2017 Sacramento Valley GPS Land Subsidence Survey results released
The California Department of Water Resources has released the results of a 2017 Sacramento Valley-wide GPS land subsidence survey. The report shows that most of the Sacramento Valley experienced little to no subsidence between 2008 and 2017, however a single point in the Arbuckle area has declined by 2.14 feet. This information is consistent with a 2016 subsidence survey that was completed in Colusa County. More data will be needed to understand the causes and extent of the subsidence. The CGA will address this issue during development of the Groundwater Sustainability Plan for the Colusa Subbasin.
